Building a website for mobile devices was unheard of in the early days of the Internet. Consequently, today the most sites on the Internet are not mobile device ready. Webpages optimised to fit large screens alone will not be easy to read on a smartphone. That practice can only deliver a very poor experience for the mobile user.
